About
Dance Athletics Competitive Edge (DACE) is a Canton, Michigan dance studio with over 19 years of experience training dancers of all ages and skill levels. We offer recreational, competitive, and adult classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, technique, and more. We focus on developing strong and versatile performers.

Founded in 2007 by siblings Derek and Courtney Arcenal, DACE began with four dancers and a shared vision. From the start, DACE has been grounded in passion, discipline, and a commitment to developing dancers technically and personally.
Today, DACE remains a close-knit studio serving numerous dancers each season. Many families return year after year, a consistency that reflects the culture we have created. A culture rooted in trust, connection, and genuine investment in every dancer’s growth.

At DACE, dance education means more than technique. We blend athletic conditioning, technical excellence, creative exploration, and mentorship to support the whole dancer. Small class sizes ensure individualized instruction and strong teacher-student relationships.

All DACE dancers are part of a studio line, which fosters identity, team connection, and pride while keeping placement age-appropriate and focused on development.
Recreational
Program
​Our recreational program provides a structured, supportive environment for dancers to build skills, confidence, and a love for dance. Dancers are placed into age-based groups (ages 2 through high school) and participate in community performances and our annual end-of-year recital each June.
competitive
program
Our competitive program is for dancers wanting a more intensive, performance-driven experience. They train multiple days weekly and represent DACE at community events, four regional competitions, one national competition, and the annual recital.

DACE competitive teams have earned over 10 Star Dance Alliance Victory Cups and more than 35 Championships, plus numerous overall high scores and choreography awards at regional and national levels.
